The National Hedgelaying Society and our affiliated organisations provide training to a recognised standard, whatever stage you’re starting from, whether that’s a first attempt with a billhook or developing more specific skills and techniques.

Hedgelaying is a seasonal craft with training running from the start of September, through to March.

Local Support Groups
In addition to the training events, many areas have an affiliated local society. These groups offer local support and access to experienced hedgelayers who are often keen to pass on their skills to newcomers and provide regular practice days.
