Notice of the 2017 NHLS AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the National Hedge Laying Society will be held at

St Andrews Church Hall, Sandhills Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham B45 8NR

10am on Saturday 25th March 2017

Nominations for Trustees

Nominations are required for Five Trustees: Chairman, Treasurer, and Three Others.

Nominations for Other Posts

Other posts requiring nominations are: President, Vice/ Deputy Chairman, and Secretary.

All persons nominated must have been asked and have agreed to stand for election.

All nominations require to be proposed and to be seconded.

Nominations for all the above positions must be made in writing to reach the NHLS Secretary by last post on Saturday 25th February 2017.

If there is more than one nomination for a position then a secret ballot will be held at the AGM.


  1. Up to 30 committee members are to be appointed at the AGM which will automatically include President, Deputy Chairman, and Secretary provided they are not elected Trustees.
  2. Trustees automatically attend committee meetings but do not vote other than the chairman who is permitted a casting vote when necessary.


Items for inclusion in the agenda may be sent to the secretary by 25th February 2017 but the acting chairman reserves the right to defer these to the next committee meeting.

Committee meeting

Depending on the time available the first meeting of the new committee may take place immediately after the AGM.


There is parking at St Andrews Church Hall, in Sandhill Road and at the station car park in Fiery Hill Road B45 8JZ, which is 3 minutes walk from the hall. Barnt Green has The Victoria Inn, Peter's Pan Fish and Chip shop and a tea shop.

Tea and coffee will be available at the meeting, organised by Chris Key.
